Football Fans Feast On Fantastic Pre Season Odds
The football
league season kicks off this weekend after a long summer
break and William Hill's football punters are chomping at
the bit with Leicester (5/1), Charlton (9/1) and Crawley
(10/3) all proving popular to win their respective
divisions. Hills have seen a bet of £20,000 on
Manchester United (2/1) and a £10,000 bet on Liverpool
at (12/1) are both very popular while a sizeable five
figure bet has been taken on Swindon to win League 2 and
a £3,000 bet on Leicester to win the Championship.
"We
have gone top price on almost all of the 92 clubs in
English football and our customers are really getting
involved in their pre-season punting," said Hill's
spokesman Joe Crilly. "Despite this, we are
determined to hold on to our prices for as long as
possible and we are racking up massive liabilities in an
attempt to give our customers what they want."
With a full
weekend's worth of Championship fixtures, Hills are
offering a number of match specials and make the match
between Peterborough and Crystal Palace the 11/2
favourite to be the top scoring match and are offering
12/1 about Burnley being the fastest scoring side with
the same price offered for Nottingham Forest,
Peterborough, Brighton and West Ham to be so. 15/8 is
offered about there being two red cards this weekend,
while 9/4 is available for one and 11/2 four or more.
